Castro Is Dead…. Says Rev Owusu-Bempah

The founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev Owusu-Bempah, has declared that the renowned hiplife artiste, Theophilus Tagoe, aka Castro, who was reported missing a couple of weeks ago is dead and gone.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, an Accra-based radio station, the man of God said that Castro is dead, adding that nobody should think that the hiplife artiste is alive and would return very soon.
The man of God who claimed that he knew Castro very well added that those spiritualists who are moving from one place to another claiming that the artiste is still alive and would return soon “are throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.”

According to him, those spiritualists are bunch of lairs who want to use certain means to extort monies from Asamoah Gyan.

The man, who has himself been labelled a ‘false prophet’ by some of his critics, warned Asamoah Gyan to desist from giving out monies to those so- called spiritualists because they are not genuine.

Castro and Black Stars’ captain, Asamoah Gyan, were at the Peace Holiday Resort in Ada a few weeks ago together with some friends for recreation when the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to reports, the renowned hiplife artiste went on jet skiing with a female friend, Janet Bandu, and got drowned in the Ada Estuary while trying to save his female friend from drowning.

With different tales of the possible cause of his death emerging from different quarters, there are indications that he might have predicted how he would die in one of his songs.

In a song released last year titled ‘She Dey Do Me’, the hiplife artiste’s lyrics is a clear picture of events that led to his possible death. In the song translated from Ga, Castro sang:

I fell into a river and began to swim,

I felt the sweetness of it and I began to struggle,

The river should carry me away,

I followed the sweetness of sugar,

And brought trouble upon myself.
