Meet Ghana's Most Beautiful

After 13 weeks of tackling various tasks with nine other contestants, Miss Bentie Abigail Baciara aka Baci now holds the bragging rights as winner of this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant.

Baci, who couldn’t hold back her tears when she was announced as winner, wrestled the coveted title from three other finalists last Sunday night when the Accra International Conference Centre played host to the grand finals of the eighth edition of TV3’s Ghana Most Beautiful.

The other finalists are Ewoe, Volta Region; Lamine, Upper East Region and Ama, Eastern Region. For emerging tops, Baci, 22, who represented the Upper West region received among other prizes GH¢10,000 cash and a brand new Hyundai saloon car.

Ewoe who came second took home GH¢7,000 while Ama and Lamine earned for themselves GH¢6,000 and GH¢5,000 for taking the third and fourth positions respectively.

Prior to the finale, Baci had scooped the Best Performer title four times on various nights of the contest putting her in a good position to come tops since the judges’ scores were cumulative as explained by one of the judges Linda Ampah during the finale.

To prove that she indeed deserved to win the crown, Baci, a graduate of the University of Development Studies, Wa Campus, proved herself again on the night. In addition to answering questions from the judges very well, her talent hunt, where she rode a motorbike on stage and acted as a police officer who cracks down narcotic drugs den was also impressive.

The well attended programme was laced with performances from Kwaw Kesse, Guru, D-Flex, Cindy Sesa and Old Soldja a.k.a Asa Kalifa. There was a choreography from Walk Africa Model Management.

Judges for the night were fashion designer, Linda Ampah, actor, David Dontoh, and radio presenter, Nana Akua, and it was emceed by Gideon Aryeequaye.

Talking to Showbiz after she had been crowned by her predecessor Poka, Baci said she was grateful to the organisers and all those who voted for her. “I thank TV3 for giving me this opportunity to come this far and another big ‘thank you’ to all those who used their hard earned money to buy credit to vote for me. I salute them.

“This crown really means so much to me and I promise to continue from where Poka left off so that together, we can make Ghana a better place’, she added.
