South African duo, Mafikizolo, on Saturday gave a good account of themselves by putting up an excellent performance at the Hennessy Artistry concert.
It was one of those nights that class and pure form mattered, and the only measure of how good stagecraft should be.
From choreography to audience appeal, and choice of songs – the South Africans, yet Africa’s biggest group in the last two years, managed to get it right – somehow.
After setting the bar so high over the thirty minutes or so of their performance, they left very little room for the other acts to impress.
And even though local acts MzVee and Edem had put up what was a fair session, the South Africans made nonsense of all of that – getting the loudest cheer on the night.
