MTN 4syte MVAs: Sarkodie is ‘Most Influential Artiste’

Sarkodie has proven that his influence in the music industry in Ghana and Africa cannot go unrecognised.

The rapper beat fellow heavy weight artistes to win the enviable title ‘Most Influential Artiste’ at the recently held 4Syte Music Video Awards.

Recently described as a ‘Beast of rapper’ by one of Ghana’s most respected veteran rappers, Obrafour, Sarkodie came out with his very successful Sarkology album in 2013.

The album, which has 30 tracks on it featured some of Africa’s most celebrated singers and rappers including Tiwa Savage, Davido, Fuse ODG, Raquel and Stonebwoy.


Micheal Owusu Addo, which is Sarkodie’s real name, beat Fuse ODG, Becca, VVIP, D-Black, Guru, Edem, Samini and Shatta Wale to win the ultimate award on the night.

Other award-winners at the 2014 MTN 4syte Music Video Awards are Becca, VVIP, Edem, Shatta Wale, Cwesi Oteng, Fuse ODG, VVIP, Trigmatic, E.L and others.
